I'm an Army brat who was born in Belgium where my Dad was stationed in 1977. Both of my parents were in the Army. My Dad a career military man and my mom, who was in the Army when they met and got out shortly before they married.
Not long after I was born, my parents were sent back to Colorado where my Dad grew up. When I was eight, my Dad was sent to Ft Shafter Hawaii. My mom was born and raised in Hawaii so this was an opportunity for her to go home and for us to get to know her side of our family.
As a dependent, I understand the sacrifice and commitment of our military members and their families.
We moved back to Colorado seven years later after my dad retired and that is where I finished school. I am a graduate of Aurora Central High School, and I attended Fort Lewis College in Durango.
After college, I worked as a travel agent. I then went on to work at Tricare where I was a health benefits coordinator. That job took my family and I to Arizona where my Dad, mom, brother, and I all worked at the Tricare HQ facility.
Eventually, I decided that I wanted to do something different and enrolled in truck-driving school at night while I worked an international travel desk during the summer Olympics. I graduated trucking school in winter of 2004 and went on the road.
I met Chris at a shop in California and 3 months later we were engaged. A year after that we were married in Juneau, Alaska. Another year later, I returned to Colorado where we built our home on a few acres in Pueblo West.
We trucked together for the better part of a decade before Chris decided to try his hand as a trucker in the oil field. The owner of the company had heard great things about him and offered him the chance to start his own company. He became a contractor and Shepherd Trucking (named after our German and Heeler/Aussie Shepherds Summer and Flash) was formed.
For more than a decade our little trucking company has thrived. Even through Obama and Biden we have managed to stay afloat.
Our daughter was born in 2017 and around 2018 I joined up with a group of Conservatives who were tired of seeing our county and state be run into the ground by the progressive left agenda and we formed the Pueblo County Patriots. We are a non-partisan group of individuals who stand on our Constitution, God-given rights.
What started as a group of people standing on street corners with American flags quickly grew into a movement across Pueblo that reassured Conservatives they were not alone, and it was time to stand up and let their voices be heard. We now have 3000 members in Pueblo and across Colorado.
Among other endeavors, and working with our Pueblo County Republican Party, we were able to do the work that it took to flip Pueblo County Red after more than 80 years of democratic rule. We elected our first Republican Mayor in January of 2024, and we have our sights set on even more seats in November.
I am currently a member of the Pueblo County Republican Party Executive Committee, the Vice Chair of the 3rd Congressional District, and a member of the 10th Judicial Review Board.
In November of 2024, I put together a committee to explore the possibility of running to be the next Colorado Republican National Committeewoman. After considering all the feedback, I jumped into that race with the promise to run a clean campaign, free of mudslinging and attacks. If I couldn't win the confidence and vote of the people on my own merit without attacking my fellow opponents, I wouldn't be elected.
On Saturday, April 6th, with 55.8% of the vote, I was voted to represent the state on a national level as the Colorado National Committeewoman 2024.
I am already working with the RNC to get to know the job and expectations. I am looking forward to working for the people of Colorado to secure funding and resources to help change the political atmosphere of our once-red Colorado back to common sense Conservative leadership.
Thank you to all of you who put your confidence in me to give me the opportunity to work for you.
God Bless Colorado, and God Bless America
